PROFILE OF THE FOUNDER
Mr.Anthony Aidoo, M.Phil
He is a highly accomplished individual, who has made significant contributions to the social and environmental development of marginalized communities in Ghana. He is the founder and former Executive Director of COFOSODE, where he provided invaluable leadership and guidance. Prior to his work with COFOSODE, he worked as a tutor at Asuansi College of Agriculture in Ghana, where he inspired and educated young minds about the importance of agriculture and environmental conservation.
In 1994, he founded Communities Forestry and Social Development organization, which later became Communities Forestry And Social Development International (COFOSODE), now Communities Forestry Network. The organization’s primary aim was to assist marginalized communities through various social intervention programs, with the aid of international donors and partners. His strong commitment to forest conservation, which he developed during his tenure as an agricultural science teacher, became a major aspect of the organization’s operations.
Throughout his career, he has represented COFOSODE at numerous local and international conferences, where he shared his experiences and expertise with other organizations and stakeholders. His engagements with Ecosoc, Unep, and other international humanitarian and environmental organizations were instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission.
His hard work and kind heart have resulted in many successful projects that continue to impact the lives of rural communities in Ghana. He has dedicated his life to making a positive difference in the world, and his contributions to the fields of social and environmental development are truly remarkable.
